Looking to succeed no mater what you do? It's time to master your mindset.
This week, I watched a YouTube Video where five highly philanthropic billionaires were being interviewed about success. Specifically, they were being asked what is the difference between people who succeed and people who struggle, and why do some people overcome life’s obstacles while others are derailed by them?
The interviews were fascinating. While every interviewee had different stories and examples, there was one reason they all shared. That common thread was mindset. They all agreed that the most significant difference between people who succeed and those who don’t, is that those who succeed have mastered their mindset.
Why Controlling Your Mindset Matters
I think that is amazing, that the one thing you need to succeed, the one skill you must have to overcome uncertainty and challenges is one you have one-hundred percent control over: your mindset.
Why is controlling your mindset so important and why does it matter? Because your mind will find what it focuses on. And what your mind focuses on will drive your actions. Your actions will drive your results. And it’s all within your control.
It’s true – try it. Take a moment and close your eyes and think about the color blue. Now open your eyes and what do you see? That’s right, the color blue. Now, close your eyes and think about the color brown. Open your eyes and what will you see? That’s right, the color brown.
Your mind is so powerful in determining your life, your relationships, and your overall success. The more you focus on creating the right mindset, the better chance you have of achieving your goals.
5 Innovative Techniques To Master Your Mindset
So, how can you master your mindset? Try these five innovative techniques, and practice them every single day.
Have a Vision
What to master your mindset? First and foremost, you need clarity. You need a vision on where you are headed, and where you want to wind up professionally and personally. Take a moment and write out where you see your health, your finances, your business, your relationships, and your spirituality one year from now. Getting clear on your vision will give you exactly what you need to focus on.
Relentlessly Focus On Your Vision
With your vision clearly articulated, you just need to focus on it – relentlessly focus on it. It is not enough to write your vision down, you need to write it down and look at it two or three times a day. Feed your mind consistently about where you see yourself a year from now – read it, think about it, and focus on it.
Control Your Crowd
We’ve all heard the statement “you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.” That is a statement to live by if you want to control your mindset. Surround yourself with people that see themselves being successful too, those that have a strong vision, and those that are clear on the belief that their lives and businesses are moving forward.
Let Them Go
Now as much as you focus on your relentless vision, no matter how many amazing people you surround yourself with, negative thoughts are still going to enter your mind. And that is okay. It is normal to feel doubt and have insecurity. But the difference between people who succeed and those that don’t, is those that succeed allow those thoughts in, and then let them pass through and let them go. They let these thoughts pass through their minds and out the other side. They give those negative thoughts very little attention and no energy.
Feed Your Mind
And last, but not least, become a massive consumer of information, ideas, and stories. Feed your mind with positive articles, videos, and books that fill your mind with the knowledge and strategies you need to creatively navigate the challenges and opportunities that your journey to success will offer.
Now is the time to Master Your Mindset
It's clear that the difference between those who succeed and those who struggle lies in the power of their mindset. By learning how to master your mindset, you're setting yourself up for a life filled with achievement and fulfillment.
Embrace these five innovative techniques - have a clear vision, relentlessly focus on your vision, control your crowd, let negative thoughts go, and feed your mind with positive content - and practice them daily.
Remember, your mind is the most powerful tool you have and the key to unlocking your true potential, achieve your goals, and overcoming any obstacles that come your way.
