Why do some succeed, while others fail?
I have often wondered while some individuals seem to achieve and find success so easily, while for others it seems a constant struggle. As I am a people watcher and I love to observe, this is one of the one-million questions I think about from time to time. What is it about that person and why are they different? Why does luck seem to find them?
I think I have found my answer.
Well as I near the end of my second day here at the National Speakers Association Conference, I think I have found my answer. It is simple, some people do not allow themselves the privilege of being governed by their limiting beliefs. Easier said then done I know, but easy none the least.
I spent the day in workshops, breakout groups and in one incredibly motivating opening session. I observed amazing teachers, talented peers and inspiring keynotes. This was a dream for someone like me – someone who loves to observe, watch and learn from people.
Successful people don’t have limiting beliefs.
And while observing this diverse group of successful people (Executive Coaches, humorists, jugglers, an olympic athlete and acrobats) I identified one common theme. As I watched them perform or talk about their amazing accomplishments – I noticed the only thing different between them and me (or anyone else in the room) was they did not permit their belief or society’s belief that it could not be done – stop them. They were honest about their desire and they committed to go the distance! They did it anyway!
What would happen if you did it anyway?
If during these tough and challenging economic times you did not worry about embarrassment, the end result or what everyone else thinks you should be doing – and you followed your passion, your dreams and your desires? Where would you wind up? How successful could you become?
