Hey, this is Meridith Elliot Powell,  and I was just about to go on stage and do a virtual presentation. But I wanted to shoot this week’s video. This week’s video is on what you need to do to build sales capacity. Listen, if you’ve had your foot on the gas all year, then you probably have a lot of business coming in the door. I don’t know what is going on with this economy, but even though there are challenges in it, sales seem to be hot. So how do you do more with less? I mean, pretty much everybody is struggling to find new members of their sales team. Or even if you’re a sales professional that works by themselves, it’s tough to get the help you need. So how do you build capacity? Well, there’s a couple of strategies I want to give you today. Number one: Get highly focused, highly focused. Think about the fact that a sales callis one of the most time intensive things you’re going to do. So make sure that you choose the right prospect. Just don’t go out and make a call just to make a call. If you want to build sales capacity, get focused. Number two: Focus on your existing customers. The happier you can make your existing customers, the more they are going to spread word of mouth. That means when you call on a prospect, not only is the door going to be easier to get open, but that sale is at least part of the way closed. So to build sales capacity, focused inside first on your existing customers. Realize business grows from the inside out. And last but not least, if you want to build sales capacity, learn from yourself. Reflect on what you’re doing every week. What worked, What didn’t work? What do you need to keep doing? What’s moving sales forward? Where are you wasting time? We all waste time. What do you need to be doing that you’re not doing that could really make your sales process more efficient and more effective. So there you got it. Those are the strategies.
