Thrive – Who Really is Your Biggest Competitor?


Hey, this is Meridith Elliot Powell. And today I want to talk to you about your biggest competitor. Now, your biggest competitor isn’t the guy down the street or the 800-pound gorilla in the room or even the person who’s beating you out on price. The biggest competitor editor you have is no decision at all. Your customer just isn’t ready to buy. And the reason they’re not ready to buy is because you haven’t understood their biggest problem and you’ve not solved their biggest problem. If your customer isn’t signing on the dotted line, if they’re not ready to pull the trigger and buy from you, it’s because they don’t understand what they’re buying, or you haven’t given them enough reason. So if your customers aren’t making a decision, here’s the good news. You still have a lot of opportunities. You haven’t even lost yet. You just need to go back and more intimately understand the pain points. What are the biggest issues that you can solve? Because if you can solve their biggest challenges, I promise you they will buy. And if they’re going to buy, it’s because they understand the value that you bring to the table. So go back, look at your prospect list. Got a couple of presentations out there where they just didn’t pull the trigger. Ask yourself, did I really understand the issues? Did I really solve the issues? Go back, take another stab at it, and I promise you, your customer is not only going to sign on the dotted line, but you’re going to turn all this uncertainty into a major competitive advantage.
